The small well equipped town of Cartama Estacion is less than a five minute drive away and has numerous bars and affordable restaurants. Marbella is a forty minute drive away and those in search of nightlife can visit Coin (approx. 20 minutes drive)

A visit to our local restaurant Venta Tintero Compero (a few minutes walk) is highly recommended. In the evening you can enjoy a quiet family meal, but on sundays the venta becomes alive and is renowned throughout the costa del sol for its "marching plates". Over a thousand people come to this unique restaurant on a Sunday, where there is no ordering, you simply point to any of the dishes being paraded by the waiters and your bill is calculated by counting the empty dishes. For a group of people this is a dining experience not to be missed. See the video below.

Los Milagros offers a relaxing quiet holiday and is an ideally located base for those wishing to sight see. The historic town of Ronda is commutable and the beautiful beach and promenade of Malaga is less than 30 minutes drive.

A car is required and competitive rates are available through the internet link or at one of the many car hire companies based at Malaga airport.

There are an abundance of golf courses within easy traveling distance

Cártama is divided into two zones, Cártama Pueblo and Cártama Estación situated in the Guadalhorce valley region only 20 kilometres from Málaga. The Phoenicians called the settlement Cartha (hidden city), and the Romans derived the name Cartima from this.

Places of interetest: The castle-fortress, San Pedro church, Nuestra Señora de los Remedios hermitage, Roman ruins, sixteenth century fountain and the museum Casa Museo González Marín.

There is a busy market on Sunday in Cártama Estación.

Worth a visit is the plate restaurant, El Tintero Campero which is a couple of minutes drive from Cártama. Its a great experience where the waiters walk around non-stop bearing dishes, you just point out what you want, at the end of the meal the waiter will calculate the bill by counting the empty dishes. Great for a group of people. It is noisy, fun and entertaining.
